Meteora is an amazing site. It is made up of several mountains clustered in a tight formation. As you travel the countryside of Greece you see many mountains but nothing like these. The formation seems to be touching the sky. The ancient Greeks often referred to it as if it was hanging from the sky.It is truly a magestic site. And to think that for many centuries the only way to reach the top was by baskets connected to ropes. There are several monasteries which are inhabited by monks and nuns on the tops of these mountains.
