This is the first in a series of paintings from my trip out to Gallup for the Hot Air Balloon Ralley. This is called the Balloon Glow. The balloonists either "candle stick" by lighting only the flame portion attached to the basket without the balloon or they inflate and light up the balloon creating a "glow" against the intense black of the desert.
